Volley
Basic Stance Practice
- Maintain a ready position, feet shoulder-width apart
- Keep the racket in front of your body, elbows slightly bent
- Practice quick, small steps
Wall Practice
- Stand about 1-2 meters from a wall
- Gently hit the ball towards the wall, then volley the rebounding ball
- Gradually increase power and speed
Partner Practice
- One person at the net, one at the baseline
- Baseline player lightly tosses balls, net player practices volleys
- Gradually increase difficulty by varying ball speed and direction
Volley Footwork Practice
- Practice small, quick steps forward and to the sides
- Combine with volley motion to improve volleying while moving
